This 23 inch necklace combines hand made clay beads with vintage brass beads from Africa.

All of the beads in this necklace were purchased from EE Beads.com

  • Material Needed for this Necklace:

    • 5 Clay Beads between 25 and 35mm in size

    • 4 35mm brass African Abija beads

    • 10 gold plated bali style beads

    • 40 6mm semi-precious gemstone beads in complimentary colors

    • 2 gold filled jump rings

    • 2 gold filled clam style bead tips

    • 75 inches of gold size 3, medium nylon bead cord

    • 1 gold plated toggle clasp

  • Tools Needed:

    • beading awl or tri-cord knotter

    • 2 sets of chain nose pliers

Knots are placed between each of the pairs of 6mm beads. Start with a bead tip and string the beads in this order:

  • 6mm bead, 6mm bead, bali bead, 6mm bead, 6mm bead

  • clay bead

  • 6mm bead, 6mm bead, bali bead, 6mm bead, 6mm bead

  • brass bead

Repeat above 3 more times and continue with the following:

  • 6mm bead, 6mm bead, bali bead, 6mm bead, 6mm bead

  • clay bead

  • 6mm bead, 6mm bead, bali bead, 6mm bead, 6mm bead

End with a bead tip and then attach the clasp.
